Commencing Lent 2020

Hello!

Here we are at the beginning of another Lent. I can’t believe that we’re already this far into the year. It feels like New Year’s was only a little while ago. Not almost two months ago! But I digress.

Today, I figured I’d talk to you guys about what I’m wanting to do for Lent. And this is something that I’ve been going back and forth about for a little bit. But I think it’ll be good for me.

I think it was the Lent of 2017 when I decided to give up social media. I deleted all of the social media apps that I had at the time, and went through Lent without checking it. I don’t remember how that affected me. But my resolve soon disappeared after Lent was over.

This year, I have a plan. I’m planning on giving up my social media accounts. And I’ve even thought about giving up a couple of other apps on my phone that take up a lot of my time. And after Lent, I’m planning on installing an app that restricts how much time a day/week I can spend on certain apps.

And I’m thinking about keeping a log of how things are going for this Lenten challenge so I can keep track of my personal growth. I’ve already started keeping track of this in what’s going through my head or what’s going on in my life in relation to this challenge. I intend on keeping this list private, but the thought’s crossed my mind to share the overall experience with y’all once Lent is over.

In some ways, I’m looking forward to Lent and seeing how my life changes by not having social media in my life. I wonder how much I’ll begin to notice and what I can do with my life and with my time. I kind of have to expectations that this is going to be a great Lent. And I hope that it is.

We’ll see how it goes.

Until next time!

Victoria
